I’m Still Here

This may well turn into Hillary Clinton’s theme song as Gowdy Doody’s committee displays it’s slant and ultimate objectives

For all those monitoring the witch hunt, have at it.

What I’m struck with in watching this committee and Hillary is her strength.. To stand up to this and remain so calm.. When she talked about the other attacks on America and how the investigation committees carried themselves, amazing and touching.. I really don’t understand what Republicans are trying to charge her with?

I know I am partisan but the GOP members of the committee are doing their best to disprove Trey Gowdy’s contention that they weren’t out to get Clinton. It has been hours of attacks, slant, and outright lies. “It’s Gowdy Doody time” is becoming a thread of its own.

After watching the whole of the Benghazi Hearing it is obvious that several people who get elected to Congress are sadly lacking in any real world experience. There was Peter Roskam who didn’t seem to know the difference between an email account and the server on which it is housed. There was Martha Roby who didn’t see anything funny in asking a woman if she was alone the whole night after she testified she went home and was alone. There was Jim Jordan who spun fanciful tales of twisted conspiracy and then asked the witness if that was what she was thinking only to get a single word answer of “No”. All while Gowdy dripped in copious droplets of flop sweat.

Benghazi hearing: The high-tech lynching of Hillary Clinton
    By Sophia A. Nelson
    http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/23/opinions/nelson-benghazi-hillary-clinton/index.html
“As a fellow woman, I respect and admire her toughness. I do not always agree with her politics. In fact, 75% of the time I do not. I will not likely vote for her in 2016. But right is right. Fair is fair. And America must pass the test of how we treat women in public life as opposed to men.

The way the GOP members of Congress spoke to her is appalling. We can do better, fellow Republicans. A search for the truth is always welcome. But in our efforts to uncover the truth, I hope that we will remember that we are all human. And that we all make mistakes. And that there is a huge difference between one who shirks her duties as a leader, or breaks the law, and one who did the best she could with what she had at the time, and has the grace and confidence to own her mistakes and grow as a better leader in spite of them.”

…. It moved past Guadalajara, Mexico’s second-biggest metropolis, late on Friday night, with strong winds and heavy rain bringing trees down and causing flash flooding across the city.
At 10pm the National Hurricane Centre said: “Now that Patricia has moved inland, while the coastal threat is decreasing, strong and damaging winds, especially at higher elevations, will persist through Saturday morning.
“Very heavy rainfall is likely to cause life-threatening flash floods and mud slides in the states of Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacan and Guerrero through Saturday.”

    Happy Birthday, Hillary Clinton
    Gail Collins

“Monday is Hillary Clinton’s birthday. Don’t bother sending a gift. This week has given her all the presents she needs.

What a time she’s been having — the debate, Joe Biden’s non-candidacy announcement and then the total meltdown of the Benghazi Committee. It’s not often these days that a special House investigatory committee makes Democrats sing, but there you are. In a speech on the House floor, Representative Steve Israel claimed Thursday’s marathon inquisition had been like an “I Love Lucy” episode — “same plot, same characters, same script and nothing new.” This seems totally unfair to Lucy. Remember the one with the candy conveyor belt? Vitameatavegamin? How many of you think that 63 years from now, anyone will be saying: “Remember the question about Sidney Blumenthal’s email?”

The one thing that was most noticeable in the hearing was the total (or pretended) ignorance of the GOP committee members as to size and functions of a major department of the US Government such as State. In fact, I’ve decided that the real problem with most Congress Critters is that they don’t have a clue about the size of anything … i.e. 11 million undocumented why just throw them all out (by whom, with what, who’s paying, who will replace them). In issue after issue they propose no solution that will even put a dent in the problem much less be effective in its correction.
